International College of Advanced Technology Sarawak (ICATS), wholly owned by PPKS Ilmu Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary company of Pusat Pembangunan Kemahiran Sarawak (PPKS) or Sarawak Skills Development Centre (SSDC). The College was set up to meet the requirement for Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) for the Centre to be able to conduct academic programmes from Diploma up to Post Graduate level.

The College was initially known as Kolej Teknologi PPKS, which was later rebranded to ICATS. The College was set up with the vision to be the preferred hands-on technical training and education provider in the region. Its objective was to produce knowledgeable, skillful, innovative and competent workforce by offering high quality, relevant, innovative, cost effective, hands-on and skilled based education in all professional areas.

Extensive choice of programmes are offered to enable students to explore their interest and potential in academic or skills training especially in technical fields. The College offers many advantages including a spacious campus equipped with a hi-tech industry relevant training and learning facilities. The Student Affairs unit provides students' support services that include students welfare, funding consultation and advice, liaison with students' representatives, coordination of clubs and social activities. An auditorium, students' resource centre, cafetaria and various sports facilities, such as a tennis court, sepak takraw court, basketball court and a football field ar also located within the campus. Besides that, in-campus and off-campus hostels are available for outstation students. To uphold its believe in providing holistic education, ICATS ensure that value added subjects and integrated modules are included in its curriculum.

It is the College's aspiration to effectively contribute to the human resource development of the country, especially in technical education which was its forte since PPKS inception in 1994. Therefore, ICATS continues to embark on smart partnership with reputable institutions and institutions of higher learning locally and abroad to jointly conduct skills and academic programmes to ensure innovative and quality education are offered.
